Re: Manifestations

Ok, your poem, but the light given to men is different in intensity, see the parable of the talents, one had 5, another 3 and yet another 1 talent.

Re: Manifestations

Billy You may feel I am being picky or negative for the sake of it, but I don't see that the light is the same. Reason and experience tells me that the light from the sun varies and for the following reasons: 1. The Sun is millions of miles nearer or more distant depending on its cycle, that is why ...

I suppose this title means Heart February Poem? or Love of a February Poem? and a religious theme throughout?

Japan Revealed

They knew little English. Counter girls simper, gaijins arrive, kowtow and giggle at the big noses. A hotel box fitted with bathroom, a television and bed with duvet. Japan apparently short of space or a small people short of leg room Winding streets, narrow for even smaller cars. Shinsho-ji-Temple ...

Re: Upcoming February 2016

I am getting confused, this is for poems workshopped in January 2016 is it not? I am asking as my other poem 'The beginning of the End' may be representing another board for poems workshopped in February 2016. So if this is for work workshopped in January I am OK. Just to be sure. Thank you for the ...

Re: Holding on to a Thread

The sticky thread's an art, a living,

There is no apostrophe in Sticky, it cannot mean: The sticky thread is an art if it is then you must use 'is', an apostrophe is not correct.

It must mean: The sticky thread, an art, a living.

In my opinion.

Siva, always a space after a comma.

Re: Tarantula a reply to Bernie Henrie on French Knitter

I was looking at your poem 'Winterset', your first lines are: Your dwarf Tangelo is frostbitten. . . and those lines baffled me at first, and too me some time to figure out, and I loved that. I originally though a person by the name of Tangelo, not knowing there was a fruit by that name. I wondered ...

The Beginning of the End

He cried for two nights, his dad told me down the line. Let me speak to him. His voice impersonal, distant, trying to be brave. I wanted to gently wipe his tears as I do when he stays the week. Grandpa told me, he told his dad, his voice quavering, I didn't believe him and now I know. It hurts, uns...

Dad held court with so many tenants, I thought as a child that he was the manager of the building. As I got older I saw he ran a much larger organisation, always busy and surrounded by colleagues. The meetings would go on all day with people queuing to see him. Evenings were our special times, Mum d...

The Fool has said in his Heart

The atheist is mistaken in thinking a priest can take away the night terror that comes suddenly with the shadow of death. No, the hold of the priest is reserved for men of superstition: the pagan in the jungle who is afraid of witchdoctors, who shakes at the thought of spells or the man who sees gho...
