Re: An Anachronism

I, Oh! What a child, I have been! and what am I now! a good for nothing person with no voice and without any rightful share yet content. Happy I am to be so away from the mundane. Pity, I see myself strange bearing no semblance to the ways of the world. Like not to be in a crowd, detest socialising,...

Re: The Lily Of The Desert.

The wild plant found in the tropics unkempt and rugged stood like an old man within the beds of exotic roses, jasmine and sunflowers. An eyesore the succulent grew in all humility. When I attempted to uproot it Swedha, my friend, a lover of plants bids me to leave it be. Enumerating on its magical u...

Re: Pretan - the Lost Kingdom

The conquest of Brittanica, by the races from the north, the east, and west, is portrayed citing illustrative episodes. Nonnita urgently clutches out her arms to catch David. horses run in to the farmyard courtyard clattering (into) the cobbles. Tryffin's stallion prances around the boy throwing off ...

Re: The Lily Of The Desert.

Thought the same way.
A second thought. Felt the first stanza sets the mood: the contrast, the brightly coloured flowers and the prosaic, dull succulent, would be of interest.
I will read it again and decide Bob.
I miss my revision, Frank.
Old habits die hard.

Re: Seceded

Hi Frank, I could feel your joy, the flip- licking joy. In your ecstasy, you call the majesty, call out "oh, magically". The mirth is infectious . Did you really dance shouting hip- hip? Your wife looks at you sadly, she being foreign, European. The line is telling. I actually see your wife feeling ...

Re: Smearing Of Ash.

Solitude is what I prefer. I was persuaded by a common friend to attend a gathering I found myself out of place. Always gossip in these functions. so exasperating, I moved beyond. Mona rushed to the stage. He looked agitated. Seemed as though possessed by a spirit. He began his discourse. How to sme...

I am not from Oxford.
I thought, till now, my grammar was good, not faulty.
Now, I am nervous.
Grammatical errors are unpardonable.
Let me check my poem.

Re: Smearing Of Ash.

I wish not to be in a crowd but had to once. I was persuaded by my close relatives to attend a meeting where we had to decide on policies concerning business. I entered with hesitation. The gossip unrelated to the issue drove me out of gear. In exasperation, I quit. Mona, who was sulking on the back...

Re: A Sanatorium Card

I like the opening. A sanatorium is located in one of the loveliest places on lake Maggiore, where plenty of fresh air is available. "The skies darken", sets the tone of the poem. The illness has forced him to get admitted in a sanatorium and he is away from his family. He writes a letter to his Mam...
