Delacroix's 1846 oil on canvas [lifeless body of] Christ on the Cross

1/ into Your hands . . .

"We don't need another Hero"   --Tina Turner recorded

corpus Christi
disrobed of the physique
for an unimposed still Life à la nude
Faith stretched off the canvas

like subtraction from stone
giving rigor mortis the slip
the flat line is not a finishing line
like leaping over a phantom fence
Light exhumes life

Spirit of the Savior
solo on the great white
wing leaving
the fixed limbs

righteous separation
Light unleashed from the bolt
of strum & drang wuthering the view
with a shepherd's Vision upon the rocky heights

I am with each always
indivisble despite unliberated air
(the last breath not unlike the first)
from id undone to Thy kingdom follow
always on alive - AOA - then alive on arrival

christ-crossed & saved
out of habit His reflection
a see-thru 4 shield repelling
even for the superstars

a man never wearing seasonal
indiscriminately
depositioning the r
to a T

2/ The Vanitas

to reckon all vanitas

blood hardened to
a precious ruby value of red

yet even diamonds aren't forever
or a girl's best friend

or a need for the body
like Cathy & Heathcliff
two go on on earth as it is at Home
where the One
Heart is now
that is priceless

3/ There is no maternity leave

"Look for me in the nurseries of Heaven" -- Francis Thompson

Unions made of Heaven
start out from earth

what really happens on earth
doesn't stay on earth

the Heart is not earthbound
bouncing back reborn

the newborn airborne
then guiding the child from the sleeper

bound for Home since maternity
I find her expecting me in the Nursery

4/ Inspired by Michelangelo's, The Pietá of St. Patrick's Cathedral, sculpted by William Ordway Partiridge in 1906

La Pietà

not closure
a remote closeness

the distance farther than physical
(never a stone's throw away)
the longing fosters the focus further

until He calls us in
ready for our close-up
cameo remotelessly
with invisible vision
