I saw you in yellow,
Doris Day walking shorts,
beach umbrellas scattered
on the sand colorful
as students lined-up for first
day of school.
My mind was empty.
I forgot the rhyme scheme
for a villanelle, or how I found
a photo of you leaning
from a second floor window,
a gypsum patched frame
the white color of a highball
wetting your lips as you waved.
My spring yellow taxi moved
thoughtfully into traffic
on a roughened edge of wind

Re: Beach Closure
Hi mojave,
if I recall correctly, yellow & taxi appear in other of your poems.
In the 1st stanza, I almost see yellow lunch boxes and yellow pails
mojave, If you don't already have a poem committed to representing another board this September IBPC,
would you please allow Beach Closure to represent the Writer's Block?
Please accept or decline in the thread at Palaver Upcoming September IBPC 2015: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=6108
If accepting, please provide all the needed info as usual.
Thanks, mojave
a soundtrack that I hear as I read your poem:

You can dress in pink and blue just like a child
And in a yellow taxi turn to me and smile
We'll be there in just a while
If you follow me
