Dedendum

{Though it may never move into the mainstream, an alternative medicine promoted by a Hindu group in India is getting some attention: cow urine as a treatment for numerous diseases, including cancer, diabetes and tuberculosis.

Article titled: UDDER NONSENCE

Poem starts here:

Healing Cows

The article is labelled nonsense, but I would recommend all my poet
pals to take a drink. Not all of Yoga teaching are bad and once you have
tasted the drink you may never wish any other drink again according to
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) sect.

Rashi, as known to his many pals and followers, is big on cow urine
but not any old cow, it is better, much better, according to Rashi to
take from a virgin cow, I can only surmise because that would be
more holy. Also he advises collecting at dawn in a bucket, preferably
a bucket blessed by any reputable sadhu. The blessing of the bucket
should not surprise Westerners as Anglican priests and Romans will
bless a tank or gun, building or ship at the drop of a hats so why
would Rashi, his followers or any other sadhu be different?

Om Prakash, of the RSS Cow Protection Department, told Reuters,
and Reuters is a very well respected news agency and would not lie about
something so important as this, that cow urine has been known to cure
around seventy formerly incurable diseases.

Om and his followers have developed a new drink, an alternative
to the vile and diabetes causing Cola drinks of the west, called 'gau jal'
(cow water) a marketing name to avoid saying cow urine. As we know
a rose by any other name would smell as sweet, in this case: taste unique.

The healing properties of gau jal are well known, why else would there be
1.2 billion Indians on the sub-continent and ten million more around the
world? The average age of an Indian is 68 years (Wikipedia) which again
points to the healing properties of this amazing drink. That Western scientists
dismiss 'gau jal' as bad as homoeopathy is merely sour grapes according to
RSS followers. The Western drink manufacturers have monopolised the
drinks market for far too long causing untold misery to users.

Opposition to this marvellous product for the sacred cow claim Indians worship
the bovine species, that isn't strictly true, cows are respected and adored,
garlanded and fed special food as in the Gopashtama festival but not worshipped
per se. It is a lie and rather like saying Catholics drink the real blood of
Christ in the Mass.

Westerners point out the feast of Bombat Sagani Aata as being a wild and
primitive custom, but in fact there are many blessing found in this festival
although I cannot remember any at this precise moment, but I am sure
there are as otherwise they would not indulge in such frolics.

The reason that the drink is virtually unknown outside India is solely down to
the efforts of the British Raj and their former colonialist and imperialistic stance
in quashing all things Indian including the Kali practice of killing anyone they
bumped into. Bumping into a Kali devotee was similar to crossing a Sicilian
Don with a bad hangover and tended to end in poverty and death to ones family.
The Sect was purely Indian and the British had no right to wipe them out entirely.
Thankfully the cult/sect is growing again and Kali priests have been known to
emasculate people that opposed them, so good for Indian traditional life.

The British, white people generally and especially Christians have a prejudiced
view on Indian religion, some claim we kill train drivers for killing cows on the
railway. It is unfortunate that a cow drifts onto the railway and get killed but
the crowd in high stress situation tend to take out their frustration on the driver
rather than the cow and forget they are killing the image of God instead of an
animal. It is more reasonable to kill the driver for the death of many who fall
from the roof of the train when he brakes to avoid killing a cow. The careful
driver will anticipate a cow on the line and brake in plenty of time so the cow
is not injured and neither are his passengers. Careless drivers get
killed by the crowd on many occasions, which is sad.

Addendum

The author writes from the point of view of the Hindu Indian, or is it the
