My morning starts with a car ride
I breathe in the dawn, follow swallows
they lead me to the artificial reservoir
I am their fairy Godmother.
I feel them circling the waters
watching their shadows
I hear them duck quacking
ever so often.
My early morning getting away
is for my poem-finders
the staff here think I have some nuts loose,
in my brain; I let them to their thoughts.
Unable to moderate these rains,
as they leap up canals and widen the river
my husband sits with the news in Tamil
to see how much more damage nature can wreck.
I want to partake of the North East Monsoon.
My Idea Of Bird -Watching
