Gerascophobia
Why would I want to face
driving tests and college exams?
I'd rather be a hamster
who jogs all day on a wheel
than work in an office.
No, I can stay young:
I'll stoop when I stand,
speak in a higher pitch,
and shave any hints
of facial hair.
Who am I kidding?
Even if I prevent sideburns
like Elvis’,
there surely will overnight
dustings of hair
on my legs.
If only I could choose
to grow up or not as easily
as I choose a flavor of ice cream:
Rocky Road, Strawberry or my fave
--Bazooka Bubblegum.

Bob---
long time since i've hated anything, but i hate this title.
the pom:
rambles and is too cute for my taste. unfocused, wanders and would bomb on a stand up stage.
aside for that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?
(the opening two lines have real promise. feel like being a promise keeper?)

Bob, I think it's unique to do a series, very imaginative. There are SO many phobias which most people do not readily recognize by name, its clever.
But the poem Itself has to be strong since there's a good chance the average reader eill Google the title before reading the piece.
Good on you for challenging yourself.

Bob
I learned a new word, the fear of growing old
and normally one would associated this word to people in their 50's or 60'
by 70 we are old and have come to terms with impending death.
Full marks for writing about the fears of youth, moving into an unknown
world with new challenges, new obstacle, new fears and whether one is
equipped for such challenges.
I remember my fears as a youth of 15, how it felt to be working with
adults and not knowing anything at all about the grown up world.
Soon I realised they were as stupid as kids, as loony, and often
spoke nonsense. Unfortunately some kids do prefer to stay in that
juvenescence and never marry, never get a job and die the poorer
for it, never having fully embraced life in all its facets.
Your poem
as usual with you, the master of understatement,
that's not bad, and bazooka bubblegum is very good.
