The Child Is Father of the Man     (Wordsworth 1802)

Our time here -
t'was like the night before
the Père Noël delivers
with the Miracle Lift

just the body in a body bag
the gift of Life
being never wrapped up like a Christo

just the body suited to the myth
Santa's sack emptied
now the brother-man is full-filled
spent on childhood

Humanhood - the father & mother of brother & sister hood

As my father
borne on a February 10th
lies down to rest
on the postmas eve 1997

and like a star dozing off
on a learjet after a whirlwind tour
the leading man
17 light years before his lady
still leading their newborns
like their mothers & fathers before them
receives the Miracle Lift

the two on board as one
travelling one way - to Thy kingdom come
what really happens on earth
doesn't stay on earth
from the start of their heart
both AoA - all Alive on Arrival -
Home

silence is never
dead to the world
just resting
in heavenly peace

the lull
without a bye

I am following to find them
expecting me There too
in the nursery of Our Father's
Haven of the Humane

A real celebration waiting for us all     (Chicago "Saturday in the Park" 1973)

i crave clarity---the body---associated with the Divine---the immortal. a son recalling his mother and father, in a deep moment of meditation---
the pom is here----for me:

the body wrapped like a Christo

As my father
borne on a February 10th
lies down to rest
on the postmas eve 1997

and like a star dozing off
after a whirlwind tour
the leading man
17 light years before his lady
still leading their newborns
like their mothers & fathers before them
receives the Miracle Lift

the two on board as one
travelling one way - to Thy kingdom come
what really happens on earth
doesn't stay on earth
from the start of their heart
Arrival - Home

the lull
without a bye

I am following to find them
expecting me There too
in the nursery of Our Father's

the specific date of birth, gives the poem and the reader a clear starting place. wrapped body, the christian image in death.

the star, the poet in an at of self-mockery, an act of affirmation.

Miracle lift, death, imagined, death recalled.

Arrival home---the curious, the quiet miracle of simultaneous birth and death.

the lull
without a bye

I am following to find them
expecting me There too
in the nursery of Our Father's

my favorite line:

the lull
without a bye

a sad wonderful understatement of the death throe.

I enjoyed the images, the Christo, the dozing star...
