Renegade Relapse

#1 Post by Kenneth2816 » 15 Aug 2018, 09:13

Nine months sober, I find myself
at the Alamo bar, fistful of Tequila.

One drink leads to another
and soon, Satayana's army
is marching through my head.

The dark-eyed beauty in the corner
with an outlaw smile, half my age,
matches me shot for shot.

Tuesday, my AA friends will
welcome me with knowing smiles:
White chip, first step, one day at a time
Serenity Prayer.

But tonight I ride with Pancho Villa
come down from the hills
to shoot up the town,

plunder her breasts, twist my fingers
in her hair ,carry her off on horse back,

worm between my teeth

Thanks. I don't mean to make light of recovery or AA
