Desert Oasis

#1 Post by IndianaDP » 19 Oct 2018, 18:02

I see the first Jesus
in the corner of my glasses,
where lens meets tortoise shell frame
and tissue can’t loosen dirt.

He is walking on blue smears of grease
or firmament expanding,
like the great Milky Way
or the pool at a desert motel,

radiant in turquoise and clear dark of night,
where I find myself sinking
without kick or splash
without my eyes open.

Is this a suicide? I get that in the end "find myself sinking/without kick or splash/without my eyes open". Or is it something more positive. I can see both.
