M C Escher's " Drawing Hands"

The Creator toiled through the genus
of Euclidean Geometry and the Moorish
Alhambra, to show in perpetuity

that once there were two hands
trapped on paper, that struggled
to draw each other into existence.

First a shoulder, then a torso, limbs.
Over billions of years, they fillled
in the correct anatomical parts

until the first tentative steps
from the page into being.
Interdependent still,as brothers,

the way my cats sleep curled,
tail to nose of the other so that
I can't tell where one ends

and the other begins unless
they rise, arch their backs and yawn.
I rub their fur, conducting static;

the finger reaching down from
the Sistine toward Adam, the faint
blue arc when we come too close.

Good poem...those last 3 stanzas lovely:

the way my cats sleep curled,
tail to nose of the other so that
I can't tell where one ends

and the other begins unless
they rise, arch their backs and yawn.
This must be what love is:

The finger reaching down from
The Sistine toward Adam; the faint
blue arc when we come too close.

I see in a revision you have left off the final stanza which improved the poem. Very good poem.
