The Golden Grinding Stone

#1 Post by RamanathanSiva » 02 Dec 2020, 06:29

My father’s father, before marrying my grandmother
asked of my mother’s father, ’How much gold will you give?’’

My maternal grandfather replied, ’’I will gift my sister
a grinding stone made of gold, thus hitting him with a nail

on the head. But only if you are able to drag it along with you.
So my father’s mother sat before the auspicious fire, a youngling

in utter trepidation. Her sister-in-law gifted her a cob ruby attikai
which she had saved up roasting raw groundnuts. Wonder-woman!

Wonder, fire, nail, gold

A little difficult to follow, really have to concentrate, on who's who, but rewarding.
