I don't get it, Billy.

What is the Senyru form? I gather it isn't 5-7-5.

I try to stick to the 5-7-5 rule, Caleb, but apparently anything goes in modern English language Japanese style poetry.
Michael is the expert in this, and to some extent Billy too. Michael has explained it several time, but alas
most of it escapes me at this time.

No, Billy is having a good day with good humor
and his senryu doesn't stink 😎

Simply put, a senryu is the the lighter, humorous side of haiku, and it's not unusual for the senryu to rhyme.

Frank, ever had an elderly relative who was hard of hearing, misunderstood what you said.

I would never have gotten it, Billy. Not on my own.
I see it now, funny.
It does happen, I happen to be deaf too.

Okay, now I get it. I think a few readers will figure it out with the explanation, but not everyone will. Even so, I don't see any need to change it.
