Upcoming IBPC December 2014:

#1 Post by Michael (MV) » 28 Nov 2014, 02:20

any newcomers or returnees this month, Welcome!

and here is a home link to the IBPC rules: http://ibpc.webdelsol.com/rules

Poems recommended to represent the Block are posted here in this thread, along with all IBPC required info.

When the 1-3 are decided upon, and permission granted by each author of the selected poems,

along with the all info needed by each author:

1/Your name

2/e-mail address

3/statement that the poem is your original

4/and unpublished work

5/and that you are not representing in the current IBPC

6/and the poem as you would like it forwarded to the finals.

^^ All of the above is the usual needed info as part of the process.

I will then forward the 1-3 to the IBPC finals.

Please reply - accept or decline - in this thread.

Thanks,

Michael (MV)

Glad to represent the Block, my poem is my original work; I am not representing any other board, and the poem is unpublished.

hospice nurse

up late
the dying have paperwork
i must complete

it says nothing
about their living

i want to be up early
not miss the blood moon
the total eclipse
in the first hours of morning

dreams are about to say
something i won't remember

a shadow
over my mind
will disappear

i'll know
a good thing happened
without a trace

'The Largess Of Childhood' is my own original unpublished poem and I would like 'it' to represent the block for December. My mail id is sivakamivelliangiri@gmail.com.

The Largess Of Childhood

If I clutched my toothbrush
close to my heart, it is because
I wanted to see the mud dust
come off horses' hooves at dawn stride.

The powder Colgate was mint in my palm,
as the earthy jockeys bowed to me.

It fascinated me when
Punch dog carried me piggy back
around 20-B; towed me to uncles
who towed me to many jaunts.

'We leave for Pondicherry in minutes,''
I’d hide myself in a big basket
they would call out to me
a cursory feeble cry, and leave.

What hurt most was , never once
did they return to lift the top cover
off that soiled clothes basket
to find me.

Michael
In another board where I was writing in November,a couple of my poems were nominated, but I do not know if they will be sent to the IBPC. The moderator sends them after making her choice. So I do not know how to answer your query. One thing I can say is,I am not representing another board with this poem.
Thanks
Siva

Hi Siva,

It narrows down to:

One poem per poet representing for only one board per monthly.

From the IBPC Rules: http://ibpc.webdelsol.com/rules

"Multiple Submissions: If a poet has more than one poem submitted for consideration, the IBPC Managing Editor will select one for judging. Others will be returned and the submitting boards requested to submit alternate selections. If the same poem is submitted by more than one forum, the poet will be asked to choose which board it will represent. The remaining boards will be requested to submit alternate selections."

Siva,

For this monthly IBPC December, do you want to represent the Block with The Largess Of Childhood?

Thanks,

Michael,

I already have a poem nominated over on The Waves. From what I can gather from the IBPC rules, they allow one poem per poet per month.

If I had known you were wanting to submit "Our Animals," I probably would have worked it up and given permission. I am sorry about that. I am new to this online workshop process and didn't notice your email in my inbox until yesterday.

Thanks for the nod and the encouragement.

Terry
