Poems recommended to represent the Block are posted here in this thread, along with all IBPC required info.

When the 1-3 are decided upon, and permission granted by each author of the selected poems,

along with the all info needed by each author:


1/Your name

2/e-mail address

3/statement that the poem is your original

4/and unpublished work

5/and that you are not representing in the current IBPC

6/and the poem as you would like it forwarded to the finals.

^^ All of the above is the usual needed info as part of the process.


I will then forward the 1-3 to the IBPC finals.

On my father’s side
a tree at the moment of death;
on my mother’s side the spirit
of plain ground Yeti.
I am born in the imagination
whenever there is a dearth
of real animals, quickly with
coconut husk toes
and nails of dead rhino skin
I am monarch of the dark night.
I howl like the wind, and
converse like a hurricane;
I can make you feel
my presence --imagine
there is no breeze
still I can sway mean plants
[the Tulasi sways only for good
spirits. ] I, Marakuli, am
a gnarled tree, with
animal eyebrows, giant seed-eyes
my hands are branches
and feet are stumps
of trees: yet, in between
I also sprout hair.
I, Marakuli come when summoned.
Ugly, a sore sight for kids
who do not gulp their food.
I, Marakuli come, when baby sitters
lose their patience. I, Marakuli,
begin where their wits end.

Although you have given permission to forward the poem,

to make it official and in keeping w/ IBPC rules/requirements,

Please post here in this thread the few needed incidentials:
