any newcomers or returnees this month, Welcome!
and here is a home link to the IBPC rules: http://ibpc.webdelsol.com/rules
Poems recommended to represent the Block are posted here in this thread, along with all IBPC required info.
When the 1-3 are decided upon, and permission granted by each author of the selected poems,
along with the all info needed by each author:
1/Your name
2/e-mail address
3/statement that the poem is your original
4/and unpublished work
5/and that you are not representing in the current IBPC
6/and the poem as you would like it forwarded to the finals.
^^ All of the above is the usual needed info as part of the process.
I will then forward the 1-3 to the IBPC finals.
Please reply - accept or decline - in this thread.
Thanks,
Michael (MV)

Re: Upcoming IBPC January 2014:
I would like my unpublished poem 'Absence' to be forwarded to the IBPC to represent The Writers' Block.I am not representing any other group. sivakamivelliangiri@gmail.com
Absence
I thought I could keep you out; I cannot.
You appear on Skype as full as Guru Purnima.
Whenever I try to craft my poems I am stuck.
When you were here, I went about my way
driving to poetry readings; Now that you're away
my mind can't vacuum thoughts of you.
It is playing solitaire with my poems, emptying it
into the recycle bin, like migrating birds
that fly from the Arctic to Antarctic, and back to the Arctic
cutting across oceans with twigs in their beaks
to keep them afloat to fish; a twig
they must never forget to leave behind.
I need your voice to survive.

shall we listen to every bird
this is homemade.
this is what we thought
was left behind.
okay, okay,
we aren't so smart.
smart is as smart does.
do you really live in this world?
do you, do you, do you?
do you?
there is no turning back.
do you want to test this theory?
oh, i love this poem
right now.
ask me tomorrow.
