any newcomers or returnees this month, Welcome!
and here is a home link to the IBPC rules: http://ibpc.webdelsol.com/rules
Poems recommended to represent the Block are posted here in this thread, along with all IBPC required info.
When the 1-3 are decided upon, and permission granted by each author of the selected poems,
along with the all info needed by each author:
1/Your name
2/e-mail address
3/statement that the poem is your original
4/and unpublished work
5/and that you are not representing in the current IBPC
6/and the poem as you would like it forwarded to the finals.
^^ All of the above is the usual needed info as part of the process.
I will then forward the 1-3 to the IBPC finals.
Please reply - accept or decline - in this thread.
Thanks,
Michael (MV)

Hopefully ASAP responses - accepts or declines - in this thread.
If accepting please provide all the needed info,
along with the poem as the author would like it forwarded.
Thanks

Re: Upcoming IBPC August 2014:
"My Shrivelled Up Poem' is my own unpublished poem and I am not representing any other board. My mail id is sivakamivelliangiri@gmail.com
My Shrivelled Up Poem
A green Musambi and an orange Kamala,
as I bend down to the fruit tray
I lift them to display on the dining table.
Not really display as much as
to help me to remember that I must eat
these fruits before they loosen up at the bottoms.
Green and orange I think, but don't stretch out
my hands to lift. ''Peel me, eat me
discard the skin, they seem to say
as my parrot talks to inanimate objects.
Our elders compared lazybones
to the one who awaits peeled bananas.
But the artist in me, the poet craves for
that limp colour-change, desiccated bottomless
apology of a fruit falling all over
the porcelain plate; still-life model;
one peel looking like an old woman wearing
a Sanyasi's sari; the other a hunchbacked cauliflower stump.
I who had never reached for the shapeful
stretched out to stroke the shriveled up skin
that might live for an hour before decomposing.

Michael,
I don't believe my poem or haibun is good enough to send. I suggest you send your poem.
Thanks,
Billy

Update at the 6th:
Thanks, Siva, for accepting & for providing all the needed info.
Good Luck in the finals.
Hi Billy,
No reply from Frank.
If Frank doesn't accept, even if I represent, then there will still be a 3rd opening.
I would prefer to represent only if needed.
How about your haibun, for variety, and I find it interesting
Hopefully, Billy, you will reconsider and represent the Block.
Please reply ASAP. Thanks.

I would be glad to represent the Block. I'm not representing any other board, this is my original work.

The River
I've become a ferryman. The river is my life. I've given up following its current to faraway places. I cross the same spot over and over, though I know you can't step in the same river twice. My passengers going where I, too, must eventually go. I only know the river, not what's on either shore. I sleep and eat on the one, and wave goodby to my passengers on the other, not sure what they will find. I tell them all will be well as if I know. I'm my happiest and most content, for now, steering back and forth across the black water. One day maybe I'll have the courage to disembark on the other side.
falling star--
whatever I do
isn't enough
