Upcoming April IBPC 2015:
any newcomers or returnees this month, Welcome!
and here is a home link to the IBPC rules: http://ibpc.webdelsol.com/rules
Poems recommended to represent the Block are posted here in this thread, along with all IBPC required info.
When the 1-3 are decided upon, and permission granted by each author of the selected poems,
along with the all info needed by each author:
1/Your name
2/e-mail address
3/statement that the poem is your original
4/and unpublished work
5/and that you are not representing in the current IBPC
6/and the poem as you would like it forwarded to the finals.
^^ All of the above is the usual needed info as part of the process.
I will then forward the 1-3 to the IBPC finals.
Please reply - accept or decline - in this thread.
Thanks,
Michael (MV)
Re: Upcoming April IBPC 2015:
I nominate "kindness and intimate care" although I suggest a title change.
And I nominate Michael's "2 leaves from the same book"

3 The Poem 'Kitty' is my own work
4 It is unpublished
5 I am not at present represented in the current IBPC
6 Kitty
I saw her yesterday, older,
attractive still, some grey
mixed in with her blond hair
tied back in a bun like her mother
She had moved into an old house,
near a small harbour, complete
with dahlias in pots and
high Dutch windows
We rested our eyes on each other
searching out fond memories
of earlier years,
times of ease and trust
Our relatives stared
mouths open,
not comprehending
building terms of reference from sand
She took over and walked
hugging my arm as we talked
showing all to see
what she meant to me
Her loveliness displayed
by small acts of kindness
and intimate care

This poem is my original work. It has not been published. I'm not representing another board.
I would be glad to represent the Block.

Politics
I would vote for the moon
and its policy of receiving and giving
without attachment.
The sun for its power and leadership
raising up all the green
talent of the earth.
Stars get my vote
for their untiring optimism
in the darkest of hours.
My cabinet would be the trees
who stand firm in their roots,
holding to the truth
in the stiffest winds,
but reaching ever higher
for more light.
