Upcoming March IBPC 2017:
any newcomers or returnees this month, Welcome!
and here is a home link to the IBPC rules: http://ibpc.webdelsol.com/rules
In this thread, from the poems posted in the workshop forum during the course of the month, recommend/nominate by title & author.
Nominated poets, please acknowledge the nomination here in this thread.
Please reply by accepting or declining the nomination - in this thread.
Please note & observe: This is not a workshopping thread.
In this thread, poems that are ultimately selected to represent the Block are then posted here
as the author would like for the poem to be forwarded
along with all IBPC required info.
When the 1-3 poems are decided upon, and permission granted by each author of the selected poems,
along with all the info needed by each author:
1/Your name
2/e-mail address
3/statement that the poem is your original
4/and unpublished work
5/and that you are not representing in the current IBPC
6/and the poem as you would like it forwarded to the finals.
^^ All of the above is the usual needed info as part of the process.
I will then forward the 1-3 to the IBPC finals.
Thanks,
Michael (MV)

A Dog's Bowl
We walked in the park at dusk.
I pointed out shapes in the clouds--
a dog's bowl, a biscuit, a rabbit.
Treatments for his cancer
left Roy weakened, withdrawn,
his food bowl barely touched.
I buried him in the back yard.
A stutter of dirt my pathetic eulogy.
I'm not a sentimental man
but sometimes I sit up
in the middle of the night
with moist eyes, my nose wet.
Grief surprises me at any time
but especially at dusk,
with the undisturbed sparrows
hidden in their branches, the clouds
with their vague shapes...

The poem as I would like it forwarded
Doing Something Worth The Nothing.
My friends ask
"What do you do all day?"
I smile.
It is been not once.
I want to ask them
"What do you want me to do?"
They continue with a curiosity,
"How do you spend time in a small town?"
I laugh.
It has been on several occasions.
I wish to question them
"Small or big, does it matter?"
They do not stop the interrogation. They go further.
"Why not you come out with your schedule?'
I burst out laughing.
If I reveal my itinerary, they would be shocked.
What is my time table? The first time, I think of it.
How to draw reliable programmes?
I google. I research. I seek help from software technology.
Nowhere, could I find my pursuit. I spend the whole week.
It strikes the chord. This is the way I spend time.
Doing something worth the nothing.

Re: End of Month Sloth Inaction and Lethargy
Hello all,
there seems to be a weak element in our process,
I nominated three poems six days ago.
