Upcoming April IBPC 2017:

#1 Post by Michael (MV) » 28 Mar 2017, 21:35

any newcomers or returnees this month, Welcome!

and here is a home link to the IBPC rules: http://ibpc.webdelsol.com/rules

In this thread, from the poems posted in the workshop forum during the course of the month, recommend/nominate by title & author.

Nominated poets, please acknowledge the nomination here in this thread.
Please reply by accepting or declining the nomination - in this thread.

Please note & observe: This is not a workshopping thread.

In this thread, poems that are ultimately selected to represent the Block are then posted here
as the author would like for the poem to be forwarded
along with all IBPC required info.

When the 1-3 poems are decided upon, and permission granted by each author of the selected poems,

along with all the info needed by each author:

1/Your name

2/e-mail address

3/statement that the poem is your original

4/and unpublished work

5/and that you are not representing in the current IBPC

6/and the poem as you would like it forwarded to the finals.

^^ All of the above is the usual needed info as part of the process.

I will then forward the 1-3 to the IBPC finals.

Thanks,

Michael (MV)

#3 Post by Michael (MV) » 06 Apr 2017, 05:09

I have not been pre-occupied & unavailable these serveral days.

Yet, others could be participating in this monthly thread.

We need to arrange for up to 3 eligible poems to represent the Writer's Block. ASAP

Thanks Bob for the recommendation.

I'll PM Billy.

Bob, if you don't already have a poem committed to representing another board, please consider one of your March poems to represent the WB.

Accept or decline in this thread ASAP Please. Thanks Bob.

You can use my poem 'The Blue Booby', if you like. I will provide the information in a minute.

1/Bob Bradshaw

2/bobbybradshw@yahoo.com

3/The poem is my original

4/and unpublished work

5/I are not representing in the current IBPC

6/and the poem as you would like it forwarded to the finals.

^^ All of the above is the usual needed info as part of the process.

The Blue Booby

The males flash their most prized features
at the girls, baby blue feet.

Some of the boys whistle at the girls
as they walk by.

Others display their courage,
dive off the highest cliffs

blue sharp bills
torpedoing the water
for that darling over there.

But which suitor
will she choose?

Will it be the best whistler?
Or the one who can raise
his feet the highest?

So many things to consider
before a girl makes
the biggest decision of her life.

There's his pedigree,
his ability to bring home meals,

the future to work out. In the end
she loses her heart
over the beau
with the bluest
feet.

Thanks, Bob,

I have already - yesterday, Sunday April 9th - forwarded to the IBPC to represent in the current April IBPC 2017.

You had not responded - accepted or declined - earlier; therefore I assumed your poem was not available,
including the possibility that perhaps a poem of yours was already committed to represent another board.

According to the needed info you have provided, your poem is eligible -

^^ therefore I have forwarded your poem, The Blue Booby, in hopes that the IBPC will include it / add it to represent the WB in this April IBPC 2017.

Of course, the addition of the late entry will be IBPC's decision.

It's important for poets to reply: to advance the process, timely.

Thanks,

Michael (MV)
