Cruzio Cafe looking for poets

#1 Post by beaublue » 17 Sep 2017, 10:34

Animatedpoets.com is calling for submissions of poetry for its Cruzio Cafe website. We're looking to produce and present 12-15 poetry cartoons over the next year. Submissions of text and MP3 sound files (between 40 to 120 seconds runtime) should be sent to beaublue@cruziocafe.com.

Past contributors to the Cruzio Cafe include Robert Bly, Ted Kooser, Kim Addonizio, Robert Sward, Tony Barnstone, Morton Marcus, Kenneth Patchen, Micheal McNeilley, Ellen Bass, Helene Cardona, Ruth Daigon, Jack Foley, Al Young, Robinson Jeffers, F.D.Reeve and a bunch of others, well known and new.

I have been producing and animating poetry cartoons for more than 15 years. If you have your own poetry film productions you can submit them as well by emailing a youtube or vimeo link with the text of your poem.

Interesting blue, unfortunately I don't do anything but write
I wonder if you write poetry too, that would go in the Writer's Block section
if you do, welcome to the forum, I hope you stick around.
I see you are a member of Babilu as well as Mosaic Musings,
well there nothing wrong in spreading oneself around
hope you stay here and make a home.
Best wishes to Eira and Gracey if you see them.

I am not a member at Mosaic Musings. So, because you only write, I take it you weren't curious enough to visit the site. Too bad. -blue

I visited the site. My phone doesn't support the necessary hardware.

Hi beau blue,

Thanks for the update on Cruzio Café - although not a frequent flyer, I have visited there several times since its opening.

I'm supplying some convenient links which might encourage other visitor - I find it another channel through which poetry can be experienced,
esp in the cyber-age - kinda like MTV for spoken word SWTV or PTV   8)

Last year, I finally got to see & hear Kim Addonizio - a visiting poet reading at a university

Last year, I read the latest biography on Robinson Jeffers - Thanks for hosting a presentation by him.

I see Theresa White is in the house.

and, back in the day, I, too, met Miriam, the lovely & kind widow of the peace-poet Kenneth; and she graced me with a poster - a picture poem by her husband-poet - she let me select, and I chose one in blue & gold that reminded me of ET -

Thanks for the note, Michael.

We're working on our 25th year of Internet Poetry publishing. Starting with ZeroCity and Beau Blue Presents (http://members.cruzio.com/~jjwebb/) in '92. We started with emulating poetry only print zines but jumped to poetry and art pretty quickly. A few years after that we started adding sound files. In '02 Cruzio Cafe came into being. In 2011, due to health issues, we stopped adding new cartoons to the site. Now that things are better, I decided to start animating other poets again. Hence, the call for participants. I hope you'll find something to submit and that you'll tell more of your friends about the Cruzio Cafe (http://www.cruziocafe.com). Thanks again, -blue
