for newcomers, Welcome
and here is a home link to the IBPC rules: http://ibpc.webdelsol.com/rules
Poems recommended to represent the Block are posted here in this thread, along with all IBPC required info.
When the 2 are decided upon, and permission granted by the authors, I then forward the 2 to the IBPC finals.
The 2 I'm recommending, based on comments in the thread:
Painting Mrs Roth's Apt. by johnraftery
and
KILLING THE INNOCENT by SnickleFrittes
Please reply - accept or decline - in this thread

Do you think we can wait for one more day for johnraftery?
I am wary of letting go something so beautiful.

KILLING THE INNOCENT
they say
high blood pressure
is the
silent
killer
it comes
in the night
or
at the
little league
baseball game
unexpectedly
drops
you
like a sac
of eggs
on the stained
pavement
you know. . .
they say
the same
about a
broken
heart

Re: upcoming IBPC for February 2013
I am submitting ,"The Living And The Dying" to the Writer's Block February IBPC.
The 'Living And The Dying', is my unpublished poem and I am not representing any other group.
My mail id is sivakamivelliangiri@gmail.com.
The Living And The Dying
Because my brother and I
were going to see a soothsayer
and because we had to cross the countryside
we went past the rubber plantation by bike;
I smelt tyre burning and then saw fire.
As we got down to stretch our legs a little
the putrid odor of those black fumes came
as if someone was driving it towards us.
‘’I cannot stand this stench, ’’ I spoke.
The smoke forked its way in between the rubber trees;
even if we had not gone nearer we would have known
it is the human body that burns thus.
Tessa, poet from UK, wished to see our sacred parchments.
She wanted to know the manner and time of her death;
I thought aloud, ‘the whole beauty about death
is its unexpectedness.’
Great men, the world over have taught us
how to accept death. The charm of dying
is to willingly let go; for some it is the fight
to live a little longer.
But in the register of death
there is no extension whatsoever.

Thanks Siva.
Although it's probably safe to assume it is unpublished,
please post a statement here confirming that The Living And The Dying
is indeed unpublished.
Thanks, Siva.
