upcoming IBPC for April 2013:

#1 Post by Michael (MV) » 31 Mar 2013, 00:54

for newcomers, Welcome

and here is a home link to the IBPC rules: http://ibpc.webdelsol.com/rules

Poems recommended to represent the Block are posted here in this thread

When the 2 are decided upon, and permission granted by each author of the selected poems,

along with the info needed by each author:

1/Your name

2/e-mail address

3/statement that the poem is your original
4/and unpublished work

5/and that you are not representing in the current IBPC

6/The poem as you would like it forwarded to the finals.

^^ All of the above is the usual needed info as part of the process.

I will then forward the 2 to the IBPC finals.

Please reply - accept or decline - in this thread.

Thanks,

Michael (MV)

This poem is mine and has not been published anywhere. I'd be happy to represent the Block. And I'm not representing any other board.

Walking Past Midnight

He runs ahead into the night.
The bodiless phosphorescence--
reflection of countless tiny stars
falling--covers the ground in light.

I follow dark stars in the snow
to an open field beyond trees;
we two, the only living beings
in sight. The unlit houses bare
faceless mirrors staring back
like a coven of somnambulists.

Reluctantly, I yell for him, afraid
I will awaken sleepers. We run,
instinctively, to the back door,
shaking the snow from our bodies.
Foot and paw prints disappearing,
a moment's presence buried.

Hi Billy,

Thanks,

and also would you please add in this thread a statement that you are not representing any other board:

And, Billy, this is your call of course, but I thought the simile

"like a coven of somnambulists."

was strong to the poem.

Might consider: like a coven of insomniacs.

^^ Your call, Billy.

Good Luck in the finals

:)
