The Last Day

#1 Post by FranktheFrank » 01 Sep 2018, 01:56

He awoke with a start.
Something was missing, pain, pain,
but ebbing away to a throb of soreness

What was missing lay beside him, a bloody mass,
It continued to form, to take shape
fingernails, hair, hands.
It breathed as he breathed
to his rhythm.

Different to him, opposite,
Not man and yet man, not a beast.
It stirred opened eyes and made a noise,
Reached out to touch him,
electrifying, that touch, as if the mass
wanted to return, to cleave to him,
as it once was.

This is an interesting biblical story. The original genesis account leaving so many openings to imagine and expand the story. The creation of Eve, so abstract, yet the whole bible story so unimaginable. Like Ken’s version, nicely done.
