Amma Teaches me French

#1 Post by SivaRamanathan » 22 Jun 2020, 22:58

Nouns are living and non- living
animate and inanimate
use le, la, or l’, and I ask
how can thing be he or she
she says we have it in Sanskrit also
every object is respected
and addressed.

In Erode, Grandpa took me to ‘Solar’
there were protruding rocks there;
Grandpa said ,’stones grow’ they have life
I believed him. When I visited next time
he said, see for yourself, how these stones
have become taller. They were shorter.
I had grown taller.

On Krishna Jayanthi day we leave curd
and butter in pots, for Baby Krishna
to eat, so all night I stay watch behind doors
checking if Krishna can come out of a photo
and gobble the milk and milk chain.

At three in the morning Paru Kutty the cat
has licked away the contents of the pot.
