Re: Searched the Internet Again
I think it's good as is. It's the kind of thing that only personal experience can convey. I always find it hard to both write the truth and make good poetry.
One of my favorite poets, Galway Kinnell, always said " tell the truth ".

Nicely done with filament/thread. The first thing Edison found that would work in the light bulb was a thread of corn silk. Then the thread becomes a rope with which to tug. I really admire the creative process in this. The close is equally impressive in that the absence of specificity allows the rea...

Testament
When man first made his gods, he made them portable, terra cotta from the earth like man was made. With a stylus he gave them features: the body of a male with a row of breasts, sometimes a lizard head. Then some dark-eyed prophet struck the ground with his staff and the water wedged itself back.The...

Stark, Billy. They say sometimes relapse is part of recovery. I met my second wife in the rooms.

My Brother Predicts The Seasons
The days are getting longer, harder to lean into. There's no turning back now the clocks of an hour, for a few more days. Declan says that Spring begins from the top down as trees drive extra sugar to their roots to form the buds which will make leaf. He says it's jonquils first. I argue the book sa...

Nicely put together. I want there to be a connection among these three, sort of its own short story, but that last stanza is the poem for me.

Thanks and big congrats. I bought the 2022 Pushcart anthology. I was disappointed most of it was short stories. It's quite an honor to be nominated.

Web Del Sol was the first poetry portal on the internet. I think Writer's Block came a little later, but it's the oldest surviving poetry forum . As far as IBPC, it goes to at least 1999. Everything has a lifespan. Nothing is free. It just may be that IBPC has reached its end. But there are people w...

In The Name of The King
No one believed it when he said the moon snagged in the spire of the St Augustine lighthouse. Eight-hundred year old oaks, limbs so long they made stilts to hold them so they didn't drag the ground or break. Matanzas means place of slaughter. 259 French soldiers were given the choice between the Pop...

I'm not officially affiliated with this forum nor do I claim to be a leader. It's been mentioned before about inviting other poets to the Block. Yes there are forums with more participants, but no current forum has near the READERSHIP as Writer's Block. I've seen poems (even my own) generate as high ...
