I feel they both have become friends of mine.
Wow! I too thank you for chiming in. I'll be contacting them soon. Maybe I can FINALLY get my twenty pounds of novel down to a salable five!

Re: Novel Editors From the NYC - Manuscripts to Market

I agree re the three stage process. I've not seen that anywhere else and I've been researching lots of editorial services on Google. Many of them look plain sleazy. Connie Chenowith interviewed Michael Neff on the Writer's Edge and he listed these questions to ask before choosing any novel editing s...

Manuscripts to Market - The Novel Editors

Just sending out a call to see if anyone has looked into the new Manuscripts to Market novel editing service. It's a spin-off from the New York Pitch Conference, and way overdue if you ask me. Re: Algonkian Novel Writing Program - Course Review

I hate to sound catty, but a lot of writers who stay with the program and listen to faculty have contracts (like Wendy Eckel and Kate Cox, etc.), but others like the so-called "Write On Wenches" or whatever they call themselves, who drop out and slide into self-publication are actually out there "ad...

Re: Algonkian Writers Conference - Contracts and Comments

This just came over the wires on Author Salon and it's on the Algonkian Writers Conference blog also. This makes two big mystery/suspense books courtesy of Algonkian/AuthorSalon in the past few months, the other one being Carla Norton's EDGE OF NORMAL. When will it happen to me??? Wahhhhhh! Wendy Ec...

Re: Coverage Post and Agent Query on Author Salon

Since were in true confession mode, it's these two questions on the thin skin test that jolted me the most: Have you ever been in writer workshops and reacted to criticism of your writing or story by demanding the other writer defend their decision in such detail that it served your purpose of makin...

Re: Coverage Post and Agent Query on Author Salon

btw, on the subject of alternatives to traditional publication, the interview with Peter Rubie on Author Salon also helped. Here is a quote from him on the subject of self-publishing: But, interestingly, for all the noise about self publishing and how no one needs agents or publishers any more, most...

Re: Coverage Post and Agent Query on Author Salon

A question for the agent. One of my friends wants to sign with an eBook publisher. That is definitely not what I want to do. I'm aiming for mainstream New York, and that's why I'm at Author Salon, but what are the pitfalls of eBook publishing?

Re: Coverage Post and Agent Query on Author Salon

I'm waiting for an agent to come in and answer your questions, Liz, about the antagonist and the high concept hook line. I have a few questions myself.
