O Let us see Another Day

O let us see another day! Bless us all this night, I pray, As to the sun we all shall bow and say good-bye – just for now Dylan Thomas, Eli Jenkins’ Prayer My darling waters her garden, the lawn parched with patches of grey, she’d dug down earlier to find no moisture there. Re: Legality Whence?

You make a valid point Siva the law condemns because none can keep it, faith gives hope. In the Christian sense, and I'm pleased you mention it, we are no longer under law, but grace. I think it is better to say: more valid than legal entities in the last s. You need that before 'go with the wind' f...

Two Matches

That’s what we were given. Some placed a pile of wood, lit the two matches and stood back awaiting a blaze as if a miracle was about to happen. Others carefully cut tinder, but if it was damp in any way, failure. The clever ones on a grey wet day hunted recesses: spider’s webs, fluff, dust, wood chi...

Window Into the Mind

After they'd moved overseas Sitske spent time drawing windows, month after month; each pane carefully drawn, one row of three 12 high by 8 wide, split into 4 panes 6 by 4. The lower rank the same as the top, set in rows. ‘Windows, Sitske pronounced emphatically, these are the windows’ ‘What about th...

Thanks Billy
There is a slight change in voice as you say after the Sunday stanza.
N is one person and meandering through the past in his mind
or maybe telling a friend, or even justifying his actions
and his fears for the future.

Re: Iron Ore Miner (1859) -V2

Thanks Siva, I have attempted to addressed Bob's concerns in S7 and shown progression. It really is about the constant hardships, fear of death and primeval conditions where a man finds comfort in the beauty of a woman's body and help in the most unlikeliest of places and thanks his maker for such a...

Re: Iron Ore Miner (1859)

Point taken Bob, John studying is part of a larger story, shall dispense with it. 1831 refers to the Rebecca riots, problem is explaining vs telling, will have to think. The myriad details should all build up showing N's life and one glorious day in all that, quite wicked but nevertheless enthralling.

Iron Ore Miner (1859) -V2

Iron Ore Miner (1859) Before Pen y Garn, at Trallwn we slept in barns and watched our children grow large eyes. We gleaned oats spilled by the ponies, and scavenged from the turnip slicer set for winter fodder At Dowlais we walked miles after five underground, time to dwell on home and hearth. The r...
