Re: "getting antique"

I don't know what you mean Siva,
If I want to keep a poem or comment
I use cut and past to Microsoft WORD
then cut and paste from WORD
to this forum if needed.

Re: "getting antique"

Your poems are unique Michael it's difficult to know how to analyse and contribute appropriate comments. I see the pun on bulb and lamp, also unique and antique as regards aging the humour in fleecing a patina the pun on sheep we are His sheep - He is the Lamb and I see the wistful longing when we w...

The Turning of the Tide

We skirt Lauwersmeer in the DAF. Em cuddles up and hugs my arm. Rain clouds loom harbouring a storm. A westerly whips froth over the road and we swish through the water overflowing from the lake. Mama parks on the dike, a crowd lines the road to the sluices. Lunar pulls the tide and the Wadden conti...

Re: upon seeing "impossible" before "Love"

I suppose it is an oxymoron but it can be taken as unrequited love. Unrequited love is the worse kind and yet the best, another oxymoron. My own view is that we all carry unrequited love for the whole of our lives, a glimpse of a woman from passing train, the girl who moved away, the list goes on. B...

Re: Business As Usual

This is funny Meena, we do spend too much
on our homes, hopefully we will
recoup our losses in time.

I take Siva's point, maybe 'partitioned racks' would be better.

Your choice.

L6 needs a space after the comma.

I love travelling Bob
the images have stayed with me for years
sometimes it is the people sometimes the environment or the food
sometimes the culture or all those together.
Your poem brings your experience into our domain.

Re: After a Documentary on Michelangelo's David

I think you could keep S1, but maybe dispence with Before picking up a hammer, Agree with Michael there are equally as good statues around from antiquity, nevertheless he was a genius (Michelangelo). Michelangelo actually bought a flawed slab of granite, it had a split from the centre up to the mid ...

Some suggestions Meena if you want them: I hear bleating laden with fear from a nearby temple Sounds that rip at the heart Perceiving the ritual I stay where I am heart pounding. The bathed goat approaches the altar with a garland of roses A priest of Kali performs the puja, lights camphor, the anim...

Traditionally Newlywed Couples Start Married Life in the Groom's Parents House

You could further refine the title should you wish to: Traditionally Newlywed Couples Start Married Life in the Groom's Parents House Disagree with Michael on this, sorry Michael: I think you mean bathroom, so suggest: The bride's family insisted on an attached bathroom not just a bath placed in a v...

Re: Traveling in Mexico

I like the poem Michael seems to have summed up the intent well. I feel it could benefit with pruning extraneous words. For instance you don't need 'Indian' in indian village, Mayan children gives the clue, the definite article could be left out, its a Mayan village so only Mayan children live there...

62 isn't old Michael
76 isn't old either
82 is oldish
92 is getting on for old
The oldest British citizen died last week age 112
that is old. :)

Re:   on the 47th anniversary

Neat Michael. There is a lot of doctrine in this poem for more than meets the eye at first. It has bothered many the though that Cain and his brothers had to take wives from their sisters, there are alternative theories not in the bible, but possible and there is the supernatural. I take pleasure in...
