Bob, I am sorry I missed this poem of yours.
A different tone, different style,
but interestingly done.

Bob, this is interesting, I know very little about Whistler
other than he loved his mother. No wonder that this
has already been published.

I would like to share this in keeping with this thread: Do not stand at my grave and weep by Mary Elizabeth Frye Do not stand at my grave and weep: I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn ...

Re: Upcoming May IBPC 2019:

I've been checking other forums, it is quite common to see a poet thank the nominator and then express a preference for another of his/her poem. I also see reworked poems represented, sometimes several times. I know Bernie worked on his magnificent Kobe poem for around a year before the final draft ...

Re: Upcoming May IBPC 2019:

Ken I nominated you a few months ago and you rejected the nom, another poem of yours then went forward, other poets rejected a nom and stated their preference and another was substituted to meet their preference. The rook poem is different to the crow poem, if no one agrees then fine. I have accepte...

Re: Upcoming May IBPC 2019:

I hope my preference is not sneaky it is out there in the open for all to see complete with the history of the poem. I feel it is sufficiently different, I do accept that the board will decide on suitability. Poets are entitled their own views. As to integrity , it isn't possible to plagiarise one's...

Re: Manet Paints "Berthe Morisot With a Bouquet of Violets"

The first sentence, 'but' means 'except' so the minor clause of that sentence means except I was fidgeting. you could say: Despite being chaperoned I was fidgety.' or: Although chaperoned I was fidgety. or: I fidgeted, Mother chaperoned me. Second Stanza, girlish giggle is telling, I like: giggles b...

I accept of course, however
my personal preference would be: 'Not Really About Rooks'.
Michael will have to rule if it is eligible, and if anyone nominate it.

I second Bob's Quasimodo, best wishes with it Bob.

Re: Sneha ---"The Little Bird"

This is well planned and formed Meena,
we are soaked in the pleasure of the event
until the ghastly end, a suitable tribute
to the innocent victims from an evil event
that has unfolded in Ceylon recently.
Well done.

Some small grammatical/punctuation/typos errors
to attend to Meena.

Sorry Bob, can't see a need for a 'be'.

This was written in 2015 and won a 3rd place in the IBPC
albeit a longer and more detailed form.

Thanks for the feedback Bob.

Not Really About Rooks

Not Really about Rooks Swans will sing when rooks are silent. This Isn't a Poem About Easter

This Isn't a Poem About Easter Sumerians say Ishtar hung naked on a stake, later to resurrect from a mythical underworld. The Venerable Bede in Reckoning Time reminded Mercians of the Anglo-Saxon celebration of the goddess Eostre in Pagan feasts at April. My sister still complains she waited thirty ...
