Hanging one up here before National Poetry Month 2024's finale

TGIGF

Noon on the Hill of Skulls

the cross goes up
the sun is waning

midday morphing into midnight -

the sun crucified
in super star light

spiders spinning
in full moon light

Judas dangles from a rope

"It is finished”

the sky weeps
rain drops on my windshield

her sun gone
the veiled moon cradling the corpse -

pietà (with stars like angels in-the-round)

the moon pulls the shade
the sun power-naps:

a lull without a bye

totally eclipsed
but the raging sun
kicking does not change

the tombstone rolled away -

the reborn sun
beaming from the black hole

power-lifting each day over the flatline

According to an internet search, TGIGF means Thank God It's Good Friday.

There are subtleties in the poem I need to think about before I comment.

Some nice lines, Michael. My 2 favorite images

her sun gone
the veiled moon cradling the corpse -

And

the tombstone rolled away -

the reborn sun
beaming from the black hole

Therefore, I will post a message here to say Hi every one. I miss my residency here -

Bob, what is another board where you workshop?

Her Joy

I continue on (headed home)

How can son be ruthless
Mother was given

^^ " Birmingham–Southern College is the result of a merger of Southern University, founded in Greensboro, Alabama, in 1856, with Birmingham College, opened in 1898 in Birmingham, Alabama. These two institutions were consolidated on May 30, 1918, under the name of Birmingham–Southern College. Phi Beta Kappa recognized Birmingham–Southern in 1937, establishing the Alabama Beta chapter.[4]

In the 21st century, the school suffered from financial troubles, due to errors in accounting and dwindling enrollment. Although the school explored many avenues to keep the school open, including seeking assistance from the Alabama legislature, the school's board of trustees voted to close the college in May 2024. Michael, neither Caleb nor I can post new entries. We can reply to an entry, as I’m doing now, but we cannot post a new poem or even send you a message. Did the software change? Can you please look into the problem?

Thanks, Bob

I can’t contact Neff or anyone else by trying to send a message. Neither can I post a new message. I’m only able to reply to a message, as I am doing here. Can you contact Neff for us?

I workshop at Waters, also called Tapatalk.

I like this:

No, we’re not. Once again, we can reply to existing posts. But we cannot either create new posts or send messages.

Michael, can you help please?

Hi Michael Neff,

Although we can post replied, we cannot start New Posts.

Please help and make it possible for us to continue to initiate New Posts in the Poetry Workshop Forum and at Palaver.

Thank you, Mr. Neff,

Michael Virga, who has been active at the Writer's Block for about a quarter of a century now"
