M&M's [edit 1]

Edit 1

M&M’s

I love the slick packaging,
that yellow brightness
like the noonday sun, the fat
and jolly font, the slit that makes
removal easier that doesn’t delay
the pleasure the aroma arousal
when I first open the bag,

the excitement of dipping
and pulling out the first one, to pop
into pop into the open mouth
and feel the burst of flavours that gradually
wear away, the plain outer casing,
when one knows the core is melting
as you examines the coarseness
that eventually gives way
to the chocolate within
and although one holds out as long
as one can before the casing cracks
it doesn’t end there

as soon it is all gone
there is the skin, removed by a whip
of the tongue, and for the coup de grâce
the crunch, oh such a sound as it all crumbles
to releases it heavenly smell that rolls around
and over to the nasal passages, of toasted coffee
that lingers like Applewood, then the pleasure
of grinding the nut to a paste with the molars searching
for the kernel that first burst forth from the first crunch,
and finally swallowing down, cleaning the mouth ready
for the next one in an endless pursuit of sensual satisfaction.

Oh, I'm savoring this one....what beautiful sensory images you give. Of course it could be tightened, and I would like to see the long stanza broken into smaller ones. But what a yummy poem, and that is a compliment....am enjoying

Oh yummy! You know just how to make my mouth water. Beautiful images in this.

I agree with everything Bob has suggested.

Thanks Eira
It's needing more work I think,
does need cropping.
