Monarch Butterflies

Monarch Butterflies

Each year like butterflies
setting off from Canada for Mexican forests,
we too have survived rough periods
with nothing but will and stamina
for the chance to rest side by side
without rancor, our hands
touching like Monarch wings

note: an old poem revised

Hi Bob,

articulates like a sonnet -
a curtailed free versed sonnet

Below is my workshop incarnation of your mini-sonnet 😎 Michael (MV)

Butterflies

Each year, monarchs
migrate from Canada all the way to the Mexican forest.
We too have survived the wuthering

with nothing but our faith and stamina
for the chance to rest side by side
without rancor -

our hands
touching like wings
