Meera Gives Up

#1 Post by meenas17 » 29 Jan 2021, 19:25

Which way Meera turns
she encounters hassles.
Having been stoic
so long, feel she cannot
be so anymore.

"I give up" she cries
a whimper bursts
from the depth
of the heart.

It is turning unbearable
she who preaches
patience and tolerance,
is now at wit's end.

There has to be an end.
That has to come soon.
Meera waist for that day
with glistening eyes.

I think your poem would be best served if you showed these feelings rather than just telling them As written, it's like a diary entry or note to self where the reader feels left out

Very true, Ken. It is an entry. Mostly I think of myself as if I alone exist in the world.
Thanks,

Sounds to me like you need a boyfriend on the side

That is a good idea, Ken!
But i cannot find one.
I am happy as I am,
Boy friends or girl friends are not of much help.
I seldom make friends.

Glad you’re happy. We’re all introverts here, I suspect.

“Beware of those who seek constant crowds; they are nothing alone.”

“I am going to die alone just the way I live.”

“I was a man who thrived on solitude; without it I was like another man without food or water. Each day without solitude weakened me.”

Charles Bukowski

As Bob puts it many of us are introverts, living in our own world.
Thanks, Bob and Billy
