Women

Women

Night beheld the liquid sea
and said, I am deeper and darker.
The sea replied in a swell of emotion,

I am full and round
and whatever shape I desire.
I, bellowed night from its planet heart,

am the coldest of cold flaming by day,
by night the Assayer's gems scattered
on a black velvet cloth.

Night could not be swayed, neither the sea.
They fell in love with the darkness
of each, and went their own way.

I like the unique voice here. It's wonderful. I LOVE the first 5 lines. I love the closing stanza as well. Kudos
