A Diary Conceit
My IPS provider has severed
the cord of our connection
after being so fed-up with me
Our correspondence becoming
increasingly discordant
meaningless
worthless
My contractual misdemeanours
corrected - castigated by A1
that fails to understand
the frailties of human beings
To err is to be human
Cast adrift like Ben Gunn who longed
for just one morsel of Wensleydale
Now, how I miss that cyber world
That digital haven
With a reality of its own
I sail silently through cyberspace
searching for a new beginning
Like Voyager seeking
friendship from a distant kingdom
Set in deep and utter darkness
Cyber World Two

Re: Cyber World Two
I like the last 2 stanzas. I don’t know who Ben Gunn is, but I get the idea. Good close…

Robert Louis Stephenson's' Treasure Island finds a castaway named Ben Gunn
his first words to the cabin boy, Jim Hawkins, were,
'You wouldn't have a bit of cheese now would you?'

This is humorous and current, Frank, I like it.
