To anyone who has published a chapbook:
1. What would be a reasonable amount of poems to include in a chapbook? Would it be more than 30 and less than 100?
2. Would you include a section for published work or just place published poems among the other poems?
3. Would you have headings for different sections such as: Travelogue, Found, Ekphrastic etc or you post them in date order?
4. Would you prefer a poem a page or allow them to run over to the next page?
5. Would you include a description to some for the poems where it is warranted? Such explanations of why it was written, the circumstances for some poems, explaining language and idiomatic expressions, words used that are now WOKE in the realisation that every poet has a different focus on events and history because of lifestyle, nationality, peer pressure, cultural differences etc. ?
6. Would you like a long preface explaining the poets approach to his work and life?
7. Would you designate the form of a poem after the title i.e.
Then up Spoke the Little Cabin Boy
Shanty

I’m interested in seeing the responses you get. I’ve never come close to publishing any chapbooks or anything else, so I can’t help you.
Re: Poll - Request for Feedback on Chapbooks
Actually, a long time ago I self-published 2 poetry chapbooks. I didn't know then to call them that. One I had the local paper in Thermopolis, Wyoming print 100 hundred of them. I have 2 left. That was in 1980. The other one I did on my computer in Lukachukai, Arizona in 1999. I have one copy, gave two copies away. I wouldn't show more than 4 or 5 of the poems to anyone, now. Here's a link to the covers. I did the illustrations.
