by Michael (MV)

any newcomers or returnees this month, Welcome!

and here is a home link to the IBPC rules: http://ibpc.webdelsol.com/rules

Poems recommended to represent the Block are posted here in this thread, along with all IBPC required info.

When the 1-3 are decided upon, and permission granted by each author of the selected poems,

along with the all info needed by each author:

1/Your name

2/e-mail address

3/statement that the poem is your original

4/and unpublished work

5/and that you are not representing in the current IBPC

6/and the poem as you would like it forwarded to the finals.

^^ All of the above is the usual needed info as part of the process.

I will then forward the 1-3 to the IBPC finals.

Please reply - accept or decline - in this thread.

Thanks,

Michael (MV)

Thanks, Billy,

but that poem was sent in to represent last month:

Billy, would you please consider One Day Soon She'll Put The Bed by the Window Overlooking the Lake. Thanks.

I'm considering Frank's A Seat on the Train.

Sorry, Michael, but I was unexpectedly asked to represent another board, I think.

Thanks, Billy, for the update.

However, if find that you are not going to be representing another board,

then please reconsider representing the WB.

Thanks,

Michael (MV)

'Just Before The 'V" Day' is my original unpublished poem and I am not representing any other board. My e-mail id is sivakamivelliangiri@gmail.com.

Just Before The 'V' Day

Your once robust face slowly changed
to a dark coconut husk
your teeth tainted and broad
no energy to walk
it takes ten minutes to put you in your wheelchair.

You lie all day and while I feed you semi-solids
your face slumps at my attempts, frightened by me
because I must insist you ingest
this sustaining milk and protein diet.

I stop giving you insulin shots
your sugar level spirals
temperature rises
the blood inflames.

I give you the last
three ritual drops of milk,
and when the third does not go in

I release you from the bonds
just before Valentine's Day.

'Seat on the Train' has been withdrawn, it is too poignant and personal for me at the moment. Some things I cannot release to the general public. I do however thank you that you thought it has merit. It is one of those I have to meditate on before representing.
Again many thanks.
I am very happy for Siva's poem to go forward.

Thanks Frank for replying.

I understand your declining a 'Seat on the Train'

Also, Thanks, Frank, for voicing your in-favor-of "Siva's poem to go forward."

"leading lady lifted from the machina" will probably also represent WB.
