Thanks, Frank (ever notice that just about rhymes 😎

This was indeed a needed 4th of July blast - got the news, soon the micro-poem appears as the featured for the 3rd, and then for a finale on the 4th, Frank brings the news to the block. (and I read now Bob, too, in the workshop forum)

Haikuniverse features and archives a haiku or micro-poem each day. These 5 lines
https://haikuniverse.com/haiku-by-michael-virga-2/
compose a micro-poem.

Just the day before, on the 2nd, I was workshopping this journalistic poem without the 4th & 5th lines, raising the bar by leaving the

"searching for sounds
of life"

out of the poem, allowing readers to *excavate* that variation on

"searching for signs of life"

from the subtext.

And maybe that 3 line incarnation will solo as a haiku, some other time, some other space.

I am appreciative that the original micro-poem will be accessible to an international readership in the appropriate home it has found in the archives of Haikuniverse.
