The months
of June and July
being auspicious
holds weddings,
house warming,
and inaugurations.
I make to the most
being personally
invited.Gives a chance
to see acquaintances
and relatives. A joy
whatsoever.
The moment I enter
the one or the other
look at me curious.
Knot their eyebrows
ask "you are Saraswathi's
daughter?"
In an another event
a senior comes forward
recalls my father
relates me to him.
He turns happy, as
he has guessed right.
I nod and walk
wondering , how long
would I be known so.
Parents left fifteen
years ago. Even today
they seem to live
and circulate.

Re: I Am A Daughter
The closing 4 lines are the best lines, and the heart of the poem
Re: I Am A Daughter
Thanks, Bob.
The poem is from my heart.
I am known as a daughter of someone still.
When will I be known as myself?
Is this a blessing or curse? Not sure,
