I'm not officially affiliated with this forum nor do I claim to be a leader. It's been mentioned before about inviting other poets to the Block.
Yes there are forums with more participants, but no current forum has near the READERSHIP as Writer's Block. I've seen poems (even my own) generate as high as 1000 views.
This is because the Block has been here for many years years, and all the silent poetry lovers we will never hear from come here, because it's always been about quality over quantity.
In reality, even most of the top tier online publications ( even if your work WAS accepted),
can't give a return like that.
I'm going to invite- not steal, not recruit- poets I know from other forums in hopes we as a team can
help this place grow.
Your thoughts?
PS. I sent an email regarding the status of IBPC.
Asking For Feedback
Re: Asking For Feedback
I believe you make a valid point. The Block does have a well-known history. And because of poets like you, Bob, and Michael, there have been many recent wins at IBPC. I’m surprised that hasn’t attracted other poets.
BTW, I emailed IBPC a few days ago, too. Have received no response , yet.

Re: Asking For Feedback
Hate to burst your bubble, Frank, but I've been here since 2008 and maybe earlier, and I've won or placed for The Block at IBPC, fifteen times. It's in the archives at IBPC. I left for a while and came back.
Re: Asking For Feedback
Yes, Frank, a great accomplishment, and we at The Block, Siva, Ken, Bernie, Michael, you, and others too many to remember all must give honor to The Block. There have been lots of wins for the Block. I've learned a lot here.

Web Del Sol was the first poetry portal on the internet. I think Writer's Block came a little later, but it's the oldest surviving poetry forum .
As far as IBPC, it goes to at least 1999.
Everything has a lifespan. Nothing is free. It just may be that IBPC has reached its end.
But there are people who have been reading the Block 24 years.
